Big Red Chair

I bought myself an early birthday present yesterday. I almost didn't get it and I walked away twice. On the third look, someone was sitting in it! I asked the girl if she was purchasing it and she said no. She got up and I took the tag and went to the counter to buy it.

Yes, it is red. No, it does not match anything in my house. Yes, my kids will ruin it. No, they are not allowed to sit in it. Yes, they will still ruin it but at least I got something I like.

Smile

Sometimes you have to buy something simply because it makes you smile... and you can always use notebook paper, right?

What $5 Bought

The other day I took my boys over to the thrift store and spotted a IHOME charging dock on the shelf. I was quite surprised to see it had the remote and the power cord. I was more surprised to see the price: $4.99.

I took it off the shelf and tried to see if the radio worked. I started pressing buttons and turning up the volume and nothing was happening. I looked up and noticed an old man at the end of the aisle watching me. I wasn't sure if he was going to swoop in and take the dock if I decided to put it back or if he was wondering what I was doing. I was about to put it back on the shelf but decided instead to plug it in to see if it worked that way. (It must have a back up battery for the clock because that part was working) Sure enough as soon as I plugged it in, the radio worked. I put it into my shopping cart.

My lovely boys have broken all my Ipods so I'm not sure if that part works. The alarm clock works well as I used it the other day. And the best part is: I will get my money back tomorrow because I'm selling my old alarm clock on Facebook.

Big Red Dot

I got my second negative today. My last one was 3 years ago so I have been pretty lucky. It was for this brand new pair of  LUK EES slippers.

These were purchased almost a month ago. Instead of messaging me and asking what I could do for her, she left a big fat negative with this comment: "had them for a week and the back on both slippers riped out... sew them up riped." First of all, it's ripped. I really wish people would learn to spell.

Does this buyer think I have a sweat shop in my basement that I'm making these slippers in? How is it my fault her big fat feet ripped them out? Was she wearing them outside? They are clearly for inside use only.

I called Ebay and the first rep I talked to said the feedback was in a gray area because how was I to know they would rip out in a week? They arrived in new condition and on time. He transferred me to another department where I was told to work it out with the buyer.

Had she messaged me before leaving a negative feedback, I would have refunded her money. But waiting almost a month to complain through feedback, yeah I'm not working with you.

Ebay should make it mandatory that you communicate with the seller before being able to leave a negative. It isn't fair to have to work out the problem once the damage to your account has already been made. I replied to the feedback and that is all I'm going to do for this buyer. Hopefully, my response will encourage future buyers to communicate with me first as I'm a honest seller and am willing to help if I can.

A New Table

Like I really needed a new table but I couldn't pass this one up. I found it yesterday along with an hanging office wall organizer. It took me 45 minutes to get that on the wall only to discover it is crooked. A handy man I am not.

I also found this cute little clown to resell. I thought it was one that someone in Plush Memories was looking for but sadly I was wrong. Its in my Ebay store here

Sell Or Keep

Have you ever bought something from the thrift store to resell but then decided to keep it? Today, I walked over to the Dime and Dollar and found this very cool desk lamp. I had never seen one like it before and usually odd things sell so I bought it.

You can move the orb on the base to position the light anywhere you want. I searched Ebay and they are calling them Eyeball lamps. I haven't found an exact one like mine but similar. Since my kids broke my last desk lamp, I think I'm going to keep it. Hopefully, they don't break this one as well.

Sold This... Bought That

I sold this shelf on FB today. I was surprised on the number of people who wanted to purchase it. If I find more at the thrift store, I will be buying them to flip.

Last week, I dropped some items off at the thrift store. When I was in the back room, I noticed a Tupperware shape sorter and a Little Tikes Noah's ark. I should have asked if I could buy them. I walked over there today hoping they put those items out. I did find the sorter but no boat.

I'm using the wire shelf for my shoes by the front door and the bristle blocks are for Ryker.

I don't know if the doll case is vintage or who it was made by. I'm selling it in my Ebay store along with the shape sorter. To see my items, click here

Thrifty Finds

I debated back and forth about getting this dresser at the thrift store. I saw it first on Tuesday but didn't have enough money to purchase it. Wednesday, I went to Parents At School so I didn't have a chance to drop in. I walked over there this morning and it was still there. I looked at it again. It is solid wood and although it has been painted, they didn't do too bad of a job. Still, I left it there.

I went over to the grocery store to take out the cash I needed. I went back to the thrift store and looked at it again. Again, I left it there.

I walked over to another thrift store and even though I wasn't really looking at the coffee cups (I have sworn off buying them) I spotted this one behind a couple of mugs. I may keep it for myself since the price has dropped so dramatically on Ebay.

I went back home and called my sister. One of the reasons I was so hesitant on buying the dresser, is because I did not have a way to get it home. I asked my sister if she could meet me there tomorrow if I bought the dresser today. She agreed and I finally went to purchase it.

When I arrived at the thrift store, a lady I knew from the Facebook garage sale pages was getting out of her minivan. I approached her sheepishly and asked if she could help me out by delivering the dresser to my house. She said she could help. My sister lives in another town so this helped a lot. I offered to pay her some cash but she turned it down. There truly are some good people here.

On Thursday, the t.s. has a dice game where you roll a die and a certain number equals a percentage off. A roll of 6 will get you 30% off. I picked up the die and wouldn't you know, I rolled a 6! Now I have to figure out what to do with the dresser. My son needs a better one so I might give it to him. For now, it is sitting in my kitchen pantry.

Sold This... Bought That

Since I purchased a Little Tikes book shelf last week, I no longer needed the plant stand I was using so I sold it on Facebook.

I walked over to the thrift store yesterday and found, not one

not two

but three Transformers

I also found this vintage Reed and Barton bowl. It has a lot of tarnish and I wonder if I should clean it up? It isn't worth much.

I can usually sell these wooden puzzles fairly quickly but the last one I found has been sitting for awhile. I believe that one is a giraffe. The one I found yesterday is a duck sitting on water. It has the alphabet on one side and numbers on the other.

Both the bowl and the duck are listed in my Ebay store. The transformers I'm going to keep for awhile or until Ryker gets tired of playing with them. Check out my Ebay store here.

Ebay Room Video

I made a video of my Ebay room. It cuts out at the end because my Flip kept saying low battery even though I replaced them. I also have a cold so ignore that.
