Thrifty Christmas
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Most of the presents I bought my children were purchased from the thrift store or Goodwill. They didn't seem to mind. Ryker got some rescue heroes purchased from my facebook group, some legos from Goodwill and this awesome desk from Bethesda. I paid only $20 for it.
Today, Bethesda had 50% off their entire store. I wish I had more time to shop. They are having the sale tomorrow as well so I might go back. They don't have much for toys or children's books and most of their clothing doesn't look stylish to me. I did get a few things such as this vtg Dakin plush:
this Baby Essentials bear:
and this stripped kitty cat:
I also bought two books, two rescue heroes, and a spiderman figure for Ryker, a first dolly for my grandbaby and a vtg hand mixer for myself.

Facebook Christmas Gifts
I did some of my Christmas shopping on my Facebook garage sale site. Here are a few things I picked up fairly cheap.
Cabin/fishing night light The sun glows and it's very pretty.
Fiber optics snowman The tree has green and red lights and the presents light up as well.
Bird House Welcome Sign I have to keep telling myself I do not need this. It is so cute I want to keep it for myself. (Hoarding can become a slippery slope and it's not something I want to fall down) It stands at almost 3 feet.
I didn't find these on Facebook and they are not gifts but thought I would share. I have been looking for birds like these forever. I got 2 of the red robins and 2 of the red sparrows.
I have two of these deer. I wish I could have found more. They are so precious.

The $6 Box
Last week I met with a lady selling a blow mold nutcracker for $3.
As I was there, she was buying some things for another person. I heard the seller say "I wanted $5 a piece for these, but I will sell you the whole box for $6." She was thinking about it and I said "If you don't take it, I will." I didn't even know what was in the box but it was pretty big and whatever she was selling, she had at least 3 of them. My seller said "Go for it. I don't have room in my house." So I paid the second seller $6 and went on my way. I still did not have a clue what was in the box until I got home.
I found 4 Santa tree toppers:
2 Christmas ornaments:
and a bear storage container:
I have already sold the first Santa for $29.99. Sometimes it pays to buy those mystery boxes.

Hey Jealousy
Often times when I read Sir Thrift A Lot's blog, I feel a twinge of jealousy over all the great items he has scored over the past year at thrift stores. Now it's your turn to be jealous, Mr. Thrift. For today I found the ultimate thrifting treasure just in time for Christmas. and it only cost....
So what exactly did I find? A vintage aluminum pom pom Christmas tree in the box. In the box? Yes, you read that correctly.
It even had all it's paper sleeves. Now I need to find one of those elusive color wheels.
