A few weeks back, I blogged about starting a thimble collection. Now that I have the thimbles, I needed a display case. The case I got with the first collection from the thrift store was slowly filling up. I had to decide how I wanted to display the thimbles. Another blogger, Rae from Say It Ain't So, wrote about her house shaped shelves and I knew I had to own one. Who knew how difficult it would be to find any in the thrift stores or Goodwill. As much as I hated too, I resorted to Ebay.
This is my favorite house. It reminds me of a haunted house. It even came with a few thimbles. Unfortunately, 3 of them arrived broken but I will post about that another day. It is hanging in my office which is actually part of the living room. There used to be French doors separating the two rooms but someone removed them. I would love to have doors installed.
The next two houses are on two different shelves in my kitchen.

Slow, Slow, Slow
Is anybody else having a slow April? This last couple of weeks have been awful for me. If I don't get any sales soon, Ebay is not going to get paid their fees. Since Friday, I have only had 2 sales. I'm hoping it picks up some. In the mean time, I have been selling a couple of things on Facebook that were from my ebay store.
Lia Sophia Bracelet $8
GI Joe $10
Thomas Pillowcases $5
Vintage Photographs $10
My Little Ponies $5
Vintage train case $10
and items not listed on Ebay
Jewelry Holder $10
Fisher Price Smart Shopper $5
Baby dress $5
Camera $5
Step stool $2
Light up turtle $8
Monkey Pillow $7
wooden shelf $5
Camping Stove $30
These were all sold during Feb- April Not as much money as on Ebay but better than a garage sale and better than nothing.

Vintage Record Cabinet
The other day I blogged about the over priced thrift store and the record cabinet for $30. I called yesterday and asked what was the lowest amount they would take. For $25, it was mine. I talked my sister into going there before we went to an estate sale on the other side of town. I'm using it as a printer stand and to hold all my ebay shipping supplies in.
The estate sale we went to was a bust. My sister found a crewel picture and I should have knocked her down in the parking lot and taken it. We decided since we were so close to Goodwill, we would check it out. I found a couple of crib toys but nothing spectacular.
They all play music. I also found a chipmunk hand puppet.

Thrift Store Finds
Yesterday, we went to a thrift store we had not been to in awhile. We had some clothing and toys to drop off but were told they no longer sell those. It was mostly furniture, glassware, nick knacks, pictures, books and miscellaneous junk. I have no idea what they were thinking when they priced some of their items. I saw a table storage thing I wanted but passed at $30. It was one of those that held the records way back then. I think I may stop back another day and see if they will take $20 for it.
Here are a few things I picked up. Most are for sale in my Ebay store.
Friends Trivia Game
Two cute unused baby memory books from the 40's
Check out these sweet graphics
and the last thing I bought was this shadow box. I'm debating about selling this. I love the little deer and the frog. I don't care too much for the seeds but you can not remove the glass without taking the box apart.

New Collection New Obsession
Have you ever found something at the thrift store and for some reason you just got to have it? No matter you don't have room for such item and it's not anything practical and it's out of your price range but you still have that feeling of GOT TO HAVE IT right now?? No, me either...
Last week I was at the thrift store when this display case caught my eye. It was on the shelf with the other vintage high end items so I knew it probably wasn't something within my budget. I walked over anyways to get a closer look. Inside this display case, were 42 souvenir thimbles. Hmmm, I don't really collect anything but this was calling my name. I looked at the price $16.99 That's a little high for something I don't need so I left it there.
The next few times I was in there, it keep calling me BUY ME BUY ME. ( yes, I really need those voices inside my head to shut up) I resisted telling myself I didn't really want it. But, oh yes, I really did.
Today, I gave in and bought the thimble collection. It has three sides and each side holds 20 thimbles. Only two sides were full and the third one had two.
Of course being the compulsive obsessive person I am, I decided to check Ebay to add to my collection. Who knew these little things could be so pricey? Guess I really did get a bargain at about .42 cents a thimble (including the tax)

Collection or Addiction?
Too bad I found the vintage carpet purse I really, really love after buying three other ones. Again, I got this off of Ebay. I paid for it Friday and received it today. Talk about lightning fast service. Guess that makes up for my last purse that wasn't shipped until a week after I paid and only because I message the seller asking where it was. So, I'm sure dear readers you are dying to see what this new purse looks like right?
It is the perfect size for my wallet. The seller described it as either black or navy blue. It is definitely black and I'm not sure why the seller thought it could be navy blue. Here is the feedback I left. "Super fast shipping bought on Friday received on Monday beautiful black bag." She must have her settings set to automatic feedback because I got one of those generic Ebay comments.
If anyone is interested in my other vintage carpet bag purses, shoot me an email or leave a comment.
I do have to tell you, the last one I received had a hole in the inside and I contacted the seller about the issue, and she never responded. I left her a neutral because not only did it have the hole, but when I messaged her about when she shipped it, she lied and said the day before when the label clearly showed it wasn't mailed out until the day after.
