Put it close enough to the item that any cropping would have to include it, but don't interfere with the image of the item you want to sell. Someone took a screenshot of my artwork and put it on their instagram, making it look like their own. She could have done a repost whereby I would have gotten credit, but she didn't. I asked her to remove the photo or give me credit. She took it down. I was pretty upset about that, but I guess it's to be expected. Someone stole my photos on Ebay way back when too.
