Facebook Finds

I have gotten some good stuff off of Facebook this pass week. My favorites are these canvas paintings I got for $10 each.  Normally, I would not spend that much but since I am keeping them and not reselling, it seemed like a good price. I noticed the store sticker was still attached to the back and each one retailed for $74.99. They are titled "Out For A Stroll'. The seller told me she bought them to show a house and hadn't used them since. Of course, my hubby doesn't like them.

I would like to find something to replace the candle holder in the center of these two pictures. I would like something big enough the cover the faded spot on the wall.

I also picked up some jewelry I am reselling on Ebay. I have 7 watchers on this bracelet, so hopefully it will sell soon.

Another bracelet I picked up.

I started an auction group on Facebook. It isn't getting as nearly as enough traffic as my garage sale one but I did win this Olympus tape recorder.

Half Off Sale

This pass Friday and Saturday the thrift store by my house had a half off sale. It wasn't advertised and I only found out because I overheard a worker telling a customer about it on Monday. Friday, I went with Ryker and wasn't able to look at everything because he was acting up but here is what I got from that day.

I found 3 denim plus size skirts, a baby blanket, some plush, a Snoopy mug, 3 West Bend tumblers, a Starbucks mug, my first Hawaiian shirt, a L.L.Bean shirt (thanks Dude @Money in the Garage) and a snowboarding jacket.

Who can resist these sweet owls? I love the little homemade one.

I'm keeping the Starbucks cup simply because it is too hard to photograph. It's one of those reflective silver ones and when I photograph it, it looks like there is a big black stain on it. I wonder how other people photograph those?

The Hawaiian shirt is not silk but rayon. It is by Pierre Cardin. I have not researched the brand yet so I'm not sure if it will be a good seller.

Not sure if the L.L. Bean shirt will sell but it is a size xxl Tall. That seems like a hard size to find.

The next day I went back without Ryker but it was pretty crowded. I didn't find much but did manage to get some ugly sweaters.

The cat sweater didn't have a size tag. I normally do not buy anything without the size but I knew this would sell. I determined from their size chart, that it should be a size 2x

The lovely hand embroidered puppy sweater vest is new with tags.

I also found a sweet little teddy bear from Gund

Who In The World Is Pup E??

Today, I went to Goodwill and found a stuffed animal I had never seen before. It had a heart tag on it and said Pup E. The dog was made in 1990 by Commonwealth Toys. I thought he looked interesting so I bought him to resell on Ebay. My only problem? I can't find him anywhere to base his price on. He had an original store price tag of $19.99 but surely he is worth more? I asked on a FB group, but no one responded so I removed the post. I decided to price him ridiculously high with a best offer and see what happens.

The back of his heart tags says "Here's Deb B. Doll and her pet Pup E. They're lovable, hugable and cute as can be Deb B's dressed the best for miles around and always takes Pup E. with her around town When you take them home, they're sure to be fun You can't walk away with buying just one."

I tried to do a search for Deb B Doll but did not find any listings for her either. Anyone have any ideas? To see my listing or to bring him home with you click here.

My Beautifully, Hideous Couch

I love vintage furniture. Unfortunately, my hubby does not. I saw this 1970's floral couch at Goodwill last week for $24.99. I really liked the structure of it but knew my hubby would not, so I left it there. I figured if it was still for sale by the weekend, I would show him and possibly buy it. I never got back to the store but went yesterday and it was still there. I figured after a week, it was meant to be mine. And who else would truly appreciate this beauty besides me?

Ryker tested. Ryker approved.

Converse One Star

Yesterday, I found a pair of brand new Converse One Star sneakers at Goodwill. I knew the All Stars sell well but I wasn't sure about these. When did Converse start making One Star and what is the difference between the two?

I went to Google to get the answers and this is what I found.

The One Star label premiered in 1974. Although these shoes were made of different material from the All Stars, the original One Stars still featured a Converse star logo on the side. However, instead of the round Converse All Star design with the star in the middle, surrounded by writing, the new shoe had just the star, for One Star.
The collection spent the rest of the 1970's and '80's as part of the West Coast surf and skate scene. However, in the '90's, One Star shoes could be seen on the feet of grunge music lovers, a homage to the retro aspects of their alternative lifestyle.

Did you know that Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was wearing black One Star sneakers when he shot himself?

Ebay Find

About 2 years ago I went on Ebay looking for a replacement bear like the one I had as a child. I wrote a post about it here. I ended up finding a similar bear but it wasn't the same.

I don't even know what I did with that replacement bear. I thought I had him in one of my totes, but I must have accidentally donated him to Goodwill or something. He is lost. I'm not quite as heart broken as when I lost my original bear.

A few days ago, I continued my search for my lost bear. I knew I would never find my original bear so a replacement was fine with me. The first one I found was in mint condition. It came with his chain necklace and a box. Only problem: it was $175. A little out of my price range. Yeah, I missed my Barry (apparently his real name is Cosmo) but I'm not crazy.

Another search lead me to mountain_high_minatures. She was selling the bear for $19.99 with a best offer. A lot cheaper than the first bear I found but like most people I wanted to see what kind of deal I could get. After some negotiating, the bear was mine.

He arrived today and he looks just like my Barry. He doesn't have the red mouth my mom sewed on but that is ok. I am not letting this bear out of my sight.
