Someday I'm going to come to the realization auctions simply do not work for me. I had around 100 auctions ending today and how many bids did I get? One, just one, measly bid. $1.99 plus shipping. Since I downgraded my store this month, (from premium to basic) I only get 150 free listings each month (which really aren't free since you pay $19.95 per month for a store subscription) so I try to take advantage of any free listings Ebay may throw my way.
Their free auction promotion began last Friday and ends tomorrow night. You can list 1000 auctions a day for 7 days. I started my auctions at 5 day listings which ended tonight. I relisted them for another 10 days. (to get the most of the listing time) Do I think they will sell? Probably not but I'm hoping most buyers will use the BIN price. I need to catch a break sooner or later right?

Only 1 bid out of 100 auction listings? That's sad. I used about 10 of those free listings. I only got one bid. I'm really starting to wonder if I'm wasting my time on ebay. Like a jerk, I committed to a year store subscription to get the lower rate. My first month was dismal at best. I did better before I had the store. If things don't pick up soon, I may be forced to get a "real" job. :-(
ReplyDeleteIt is slow for me too. I tried some auctions, only one has a bid. I am blaming summer family vacations and getting ready for school for the slow sales. I have to blame something! Lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a store am taking advantage of the free listings to relist as the auctions end. I had 5 BIN last week one was a UPI so make that 4. I had way better sales with the old listing format!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like Ebay is really encouraging sellers to use the auction format more. And when Ebay encourages, you have to listen or your sales ranking will probably drop. Sooooo, I have been using the free auction listings strictly as a way to 1) in my mind (because Ebay gives no secrets away) get my sales ranking up, AND 2) to hopefully drive more buyers to my listing, then possibly onto my store. When the free auction listings are gone, I will be going back to strictly a BIN frame of mind again until Ebay "encourages" me again. ;)
ReplyDeleteI do store BIN. During promos I will switch them to 3 day auctions at the same BIN price. Then I go right back to store BIN. No one seems to know what the magical formula is anymore, just that overall sales are down for most sellers.
