Here are some items I found this summer at the thrift store.
I have always wanted a bookshelf with the glass doors. This isn't exactly the style I want (I think what I want is called a lawyer's bookcase) but for $15, I couldn't pass it up. I was surprised to see it still there when I went back the next day because I did not have enough money when I first saw it.
It's really hard to find a good globe and I regret selling mine that lighted up. This one isn't vintage but I like the dark blue. I wish the base was metal instead of plastic.
I usually pick up these scales because they usually sell well on ebay but I haven't listed it yet.
It looks good on top of my hutch between my two globes.
I'm a sucker for clocks and I thought this one was cool looking. It was also half off at Goodwill and it works.
and last but not least, my jackalope. I really want one of those mounted ones but this bank will work for now. Isn't he cute? His name is George.

that jackelope is CRAZY cool! Great find!
ReplyDeleteAnother name for the bookcases you are looking for is barrister's bookcase. It's another name for a lawyer, but it's another word you can put into a search engine. I like the bookcase you found.
ReplyDeleteBack n the day when I was 6 or 7, my uncle had a restaurant in Wyomng and the decor had multiple stuffed Jackalopes. At the time, I was convinced they were a real animal. And I wondered why no one ever really disputed it? I guess they thought I should have known better. Haha
ReplyDeleteIt's always exciting to find something on your wish list. Great finds! :-)
