Who, Who Made This?

I found this cute owl today. It measures about 4 1/4" inch high. It appears to be resin or some type of stone. One the bottom it says Italy but what did the rest of the tag say? Unfortunately, a price sticker was placed on top of the label and the label came off. Why do thrift stores do this? Whatever this says could make a difference in the price. Any help? Thank you

  1. I hate when that happens! I hope you can find out what it says. There is a site that allows questions to figure out what things are. You'll have to be allowed in, but they might be able to help now and in the future. It is a Facebook group called "What is this? Antique, vintage, and unusual item identification." I know...long title, but it exists. See what they might be able to do.

  2. This may have nothing to do with your owl, but if you scroll down and look in the description it will talk about tag info that sounds similar to yours. Hopefully it will work.

  3. As a guess, I think it would read "veritable albatre" (real alabaster) and the bit below would read "sculpte main" (hand carved).

  4. I hate when stores do that. One of my town thrift stores sticks price tag on books ISBN/EAN/UPC Numbers so people can't scan the code.
