Sold This... Bought That

I sold these two items off Facebook this afternoon. I was using the bathroom shelf but my hubby kept hitting his head on it. Don't ask how, because I have no clue.

Today was the last day of the 50% off sale at the thrift store. I wanted to get this roll of tickets I saw there yesterday, (for rewarding Ryker for good behavior) but I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm assuming it sold. I got this stuff instead.

I love the old wood on this picture frame. Whomever made this, didn't really do a good job as the picture is bubbling all over but I don't care. I still love it. It looks better in real life. It's not as faded as it looks here.

I also bought these 2 Ball canning jars. I found some candles to put inside but I'm not sure what I want to fill them with. (btw the t.s.charges a ridiculous amount for these jars even at half off)

I wish I would have found 2 of this candle holder because I like how it sits inside the jar.

This holder sits above the jar.

If anyone has any idea what I should fill them with, let me know in the comments. Thank you

Sold This... Bought That

A few days ago I went through my Ebay plush and took out the ones that have been sitting forever. These were mostly plush I bought when I first started selling stuffed animals. I would most likely not pick these up again. There were over 20 plush in this pile and I sold them on FB for $10

I found this book shelf at GW. I probably didn't need it but I couldn't pass up such a good deal, especially at GW.

I also got this Big Bird book holder for my Sweet Pickles books.

and with the rest of the money from my sale, I bought this Powerpuff girl figure and a kitty kitty kittens.

What $5 Bought

On Thursdays, the thrift store has this dice game where if you roll a 3, 4, 5 or 6 you get a certain percentage off your purchase. Ryker likes to play this. The highest you can get is 30% off for rolling a 6. Ryker only rolled a 2 so no percentage off. We found this marble maze for $4.59. It was in a box marked hamster habitat. I opened it up to see what was inside.

When we were checking out, the cashier said "Someone's getting a hamster." I replied, "No, someone is getting a marble maze." I opened it up to show her. She told me the ladies must have looked at the tubing and thought it was for a hamster. Hmmm, that would be one tiny hamster.

It took me an hour to put this together. I was beginning to think  you needed a degree in engineering to assemble it. I can only imagine how long it would have taken me without the directions. Next time, I'll let Ryker put it together.

Sold This... Bought That

I bought this vintage record stand about a year ago with every intention of fixing and restaining it. I never got around to it and truth be told, I probably wouldn't. I listed it on a FB garage sale group and within minutes, a few people were interested. The second person picked it up tonight.

sold for $7

I've been looking for something other than a bookshelf to hold Ryker's paperback books. I found the perfect table at the thrift store. I'm not too crazy about the green color, but I love the storage underneath it.

bought for $6.99

I also picked up this bench. It was a spur of the moment buy. I certainly didn't need another one but I couldn't pass it up. I have it for sale for local pick up on my Facebook page here. Please join as I will ship other items provided you pay for postage. I'm only 4 away from 100 members.

If You Can't Sell It...

Repurpose It.

I found this vintage Sears Hotdog skateboard back in September. I don't know anything about skateboards so I almost didn't pick it up. I left it at the thrift store, went home and did an Ebay search. One in mint condition sold for $135 so I was hoping I could make at least $50 - $60 This was back in September.

I think I originally listed it at $79.99 or best offer. I got some watchers and one buyer offered me $20. Month after month it sat with plenty of watchers but no offers. I decided to list it at $49.99 without Best Offer. Still no takers.

Earlier today I was watching the latest Walking Dead episode where Tyreese was in the twin boy's bedroom and inspiration struck. I was going to make a shelf out of my skateboard. I took the listing down and went to work. I already had the brackets because I was going to originally make a board game shelf but never got around to it. I didn't want to screw the brackets to the skateboard, so for now it is resting on the brackets.

Now if I can only figure out what to do with all these stuffed animals...

Sold This... Bought That

I sold some children's plates on Facebook this past week. Good thing I procrastinated with taking my box to consignment as I would not have gotten that much there.

On Friday, my sister took me over to St. Vincent's. I got this lamp.

I don't really need any more lamps, but I like how it matches my bench.

There was a blue bulb in the lamp and the cashier charged me for the bulb. They were selling other blue bulbs for .25c but all those were marked. I felt like he thought I was trying to steal a bulb. Trust me, if it had a price sticker on it, it would have been near impossible to remove all of it. I had bought 4 additional bulbs and I know.

I also bought a bag of play dough with accessories for Ryker and found 2 Powerpuff Girls cake toppers. I put those on auction here.

Thrifty Finds

I'm not really sure what I want to do with this vintage milk crate. The tag from the thrift store said it was from Golden Dairy. Right now, I have it sitting on my library catalog holding my scale and paper. (If anyone has a front for the library card catalog drawer, please message me)

I normally don't buy Pyrex but the price was too good to pass on this small yellow bowl. Most pieces I find have dishwasher damage or are badly scratched. This piece has some scratches but isn't bad.

I'm debating whether I should sell these records together as a group or with my Fisher Price record player. I have had that player for quite some time and wish someone would buy it. It did sell at one point and after I printed the label, the buyer messaged me all irate calling me shady because she had asked me to cancel the transaction. I never got a message prior to that one and when I called Ebay, they said she never asked to cancel. Turns out she found a cheaper one.

A Barney phone that oddly sells for around $15 on Ebay

Another Paddington rattle. My first one is wearing a yellow hat.

The replacement silo for the Fisher Price barn. Hopefully the next time I go, they have the barn and animals.

Leo from Little Einsteins

My trip would not be complete without a plush. So here is Snoopy.

The thrift store puts all their little toys into bargain bags. Usually, there is only one or two things I want from each bag but I have to purchase the whole bag. I have been saving the baby toys to put into a lot. Here is one lot I have.

Check out my Ebay store here

I also have a Facebook group you can join. You do not need to be from my area as I will ship items to you if you cover the shipping cost. You can join here
