Fabulous Finds

I found some good stuff  in the pass week.

I've always wanted one of these vintage record holders. This one needs to be stained but the price was right. I'm thinking of putting Ryker's story books in the slots.

This was an impulse buy. I originally went into the consignment shop to see if I had any money in my account. It was a steal and all I had to do was put three missing bolts on the bottom to fix it. It barely fit into my sister's clown car but I was determined to make it happen even if it meant being squished in the back with my two children.

I love this bathroom shelf but unfortunately the only wall it would fit on was the wall next to the toilet. My husband said "Great now I'm going to hit my head every time I use the bathroom" Well, honey, I hung it up high enough and the only way that is possible is if you are standing on the toilet and leaning to the left.

Some monkeys for my desk. I priced these super high on Ebay so I could keep them for awhile but not be a hoarder because they are listed.

And some cute little cupcake/muffin dolls. Also listed on Ebay and the first doll has already sold and will be on her way to France in the morning.

Curbside Finds

I'm normally not one to pick up stuff from the curb, especially if I am walking, but this pass weekend I made an exception.

Seriously, who throws away a He Man castle? I already sold this on my Facebook garage sale group. I didn't want to deal with shipping and Ebay. I know I left money on the table with this but I am ok with a quick nickel as compared to a fast dime. Besides, there are so many listed right now that are complete.

I also sold the pink container on FB. I really didn't need any more kitchen chairs but I can't seem to resist these vintage ones. And for free... I'm all over that.

More Thrifty Finds

My sister took me over to Goodwill yesterday and I didn't find much. I went out of my comfort zone and purchased some purses and mugs. I also picked up some hot rollers there.

I found the stuffed animals and the footstool at the thrift store this morning.

I also found a ladder shelf there as well.

Thrifty Tuesday Finds

Last Friday, my sister and I went to the Rib MT community garage sales. We didn't hit all of them as we were short on time. I was pretty disappointed and found better stuff at Goodwill.

The scoot and zoom ride on toy is recalled. If you go to their website, they will mail you information on getting a $20 refund. I am still waiting on that. The three stuffed animals in the front, I found at one garage sale but the rest was at Goodwill.

The chairs  the My buddy Doll and My Pet Monster are sitting in, are called Bilibo seats. I had seen one a few months ago that another person was buying. My sister had asked what it was because it looks like a swing without the ropes.

Your child can sit in it and rock. It is designed for 2 to 7 year olds. On their website, they show other uses for it as well.

Yesterday, I walked over to the thrift store and found this jumbo Mickey Mouse plush. I am hoping to sell him locally but I also listed him on Ebay.

He measures 42" and is almost as tall as Ryker. I can ship him in a box but because of his size, it could cost up to $30. I really hope someone on my Facebook garage sale site will buy him. There was one about 2 months ago that sold for $50 and I know there was another person interested. Guess we will wait and see.

My Ebay Hoard Storage Solution

Now that we have a bigger house, I don't have to find places to stash my Ebay inventory. I have my own room plus a closet. I'm not sure if I posted this before, but here it is.

This is my shipping supply closet. My sister gets all the packing foam sheets from her work for free. I'm not sure if they throw it away in the regular trash or if it gets recycled.

I keep my poly mailers and flat rate envelopes in this cupboard.

I keep all my inventory upstairs in a spare bedroom. I use a bin system and each bin is marked with a number. I love the shelving so I don't have to unstack bins.

Thrifty Tuesday Find

Yesterday, my hubby took me over to Goodwill. This hardly ever happens without me asking to go. Plus we had two of our children with us. I'm glad we went because I finally found the kitchen chairs I have been searching for.

Now of course convincing my hubby to purchase another set of chairs is a different story. They were only $3.99 a piece. I told him I could easily sell the other kitchen chairs plus the extra table we had on Facebook. He agreed to get them but he wans't helping me take them to the check out. (yeah he can be a brat) I managed to get two into the cart and dragged the other two behind me. I was so happy with myself, I became thrift store blind and did not see how filthy they were. I actually thought they were a beige color until after I cleaned them and they turned white!

Before cleaning:

All nice and clean at my table:

VTG Red Star Cap Guns

About a week ago I found 2 vintage Red Star cap guns at Goodwill. Since I do not have a smart phone, I took a chance on them and bought them. I wanted to list them at acution, so I waited until today to do so.

They are in very good shape and work. I thought for sure they would be good sellers and perhaps a bidding war would ensue. Can you list cap guns on Ebay? Since it is a toy, I thought so. Well, I learned the hard way. One can not sell these types of toys unless they have a permanently affixed orange plug at the end of the barrel. My listing was pulled and I went from High Policy Compliance to Low Compliance within a few hours of listing. HIGH TO LOW!! WTH? No warning, nothing.

In 1988, the federal Government passed a law stating that any toy gun manufactured after the bill passed had to have an orange plug built into it. What about all the toy guns manufactured before this bill passed? They too must have some type of orange plug permanently affxed before they can be sold on the secondary market. How many people actually know this?

I called Ebay to appeal my Low Compliance rating. I understand the need to remove my listing but to slap me with a low right away seems a little harsh. I have not had any other violations in over two years. I love how buyers can bid on things and not pay or bid on multiple auctions of the same item and than just pay the lowest bid and they don't get slapped with anything but us sellers mess up one time and we are grounded and sent to Ebay jail? Seriously, sellers are what keeps Ebay in business. Without anything to sell, there would be no buyers. Why not think about that Ebay?

If you are listing a cap gun, be sure all your photos show the entire gun and plug. No close up photos showing details. Plus you need to add a statement similar to this:

This is non-firing toy cap gun that conforms to USA laws & eBay rules with an orange barrel plug (as seen in all photos of the gun). This Toy cannot be made to fire lethal projectiles. USA Shipping only.
