Pie Safe Cabinet

I've been wanting a pie safe for quite some time. My friend buys the contents of estates and then sells the items. My husband had been helping him with this one estate. He was telling me about this cabinet that had wire on the door. I thought he was describing a pie safe and I told him to grab it for me.

It isn't a conventional pie safe but whomever made it, did a good job. It was filled with sewing notions, a sewing box and fabric. It has an 80's vibe to it with the heart cutout/country theme.  It isn't exactly what I had pictured but for now, I will use it until it sells.

Thrift Store Finds

Some things I found this week.

The hand is for Ryker but the other items are for sale in my ebay store.

I bought this for my ferrets but they keep chewing on the mouse so I think I might see if the cat will play with it.

I also picked up this cat figurine. Look how small it is.

Week In Review

I sold four items on ebay and four on FB marketplace. My friend bought the contents of an estate and I sold the marketplace items for him. We did a 50/50 split.

Set of lamps

A kitchen island

vintage sewing basket and four jewelry boxes.

On ebay, I sold the rest of my cage ramps, a backpack and a coffee cup.

Atlas Protein Bars

I bought another sample pack of protein bars off Facebook ads. These are from a company called Atlas. The sample pack of 6 was 10$ with free shipping.

I tried the peanut butter raspberry and Bill tried the almond chocolate chip.

The flavor was spot on but it was really dry. It was like eating a mouthful of sand. Bill threw his away. Which I knew he wouldn't like it but he insisted on trying it. With a glass of milk, I was able to get it down. I don't think I will buy these in the future but I still have four more to try.

Would You Have Bought It?

I went to Goodwill today and found a x ray light box. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with it. Probably use it as a night light. I looked on ebay for x ray images but it seems they sell them in pound lots. Like I don't want 62 images. I just want one to display. The only listing I found for a single one is a seller in the U.K. and I really don't want to pay 20$ for shipping.

Both sides do work. I paid 16$ with tax and round up. Would you have bought it? What would you use it for? Leave a comment below.

Week In Review

I sold 6 items on ebay, 1 item on FB marketplace and nothing on Bonanza.

Before the pandemic closed stores, I found this hippie figurine in Goodwill. I left it on the shelf and looked around. When I came back, it was in someone else's cart. When the stores opened again, I saw he was put back and I grabbed him. Good thing I did as he sold for 49.99

These dolls are from the 80's. They are called Sea Wees.

Back in November, I adopted a couple of ferrets. I took out the ramps from their cage and replaced them with more levels. I sold three of 5 ramps. One set of two for 29.99 and one for 14.99

This is the last Fisher Price playset I had. I took a best offer of 80.

I also took a best offer on these weeble accessories.

I had a buyer drive two hours to pick up this desk and chair off Marketplace.

Thrift Store Finds

I still haven't found much to resell but I did find these two owls. They are up for sale on  Ebay

I bought this Star Wars framed poster for my son. We still have to hang it.

I love Harry Potter and I will never not buy any Harry Potter items. This Hogwarts crest light is also for sale Here

Weekend Sales

I sold three things on ebay, zero on Bonanza and zero on Marketplace.

Hot Rollers are a good seller. I was afraid with covid19, pageants would be cancelled and I would have these for awhile. I'm not sure if they are doing pageants now or not. Remington rollers seem to sell the best.

I have a separate account for my owl figurines and this owl sold there.

I took a best offer for this silly kitchen sign.

Would You Have Bought it?

I found this bacon clock at Goodwill yesterday for $4.99 It didn't have batteries in it. Since they don't check their items, I asked a team leader for a screwdriver and batteries. She didn't have a small enough screwdriver. Since they are not taking returns, except on clothes, I was a little concerned about wasting my money. The team leader told me if it didn't work, she would allow me to return it.

I got it home and it works.

Facebook Ads

Have you bought anything off a Facebook ad? Some of them seem to good to be true so I suggest researching the company before purchasing.  A lot of the times, I will see something on FB and check if I can find the product on Ebay. It seems a little less risky doing it this way.

Anyways, a lot of the ads targeted to me have been items to better your health, like exercise equipment, vitamins, supplements and protein bars. The protein bars are usually sample packs so I have been trying those. So far, I have tried Built bar, Sans protein bar, One and Exo.

Out of all those, Built was the best. It was a little chewy and some bars taste the same but overall the best taste.

One bar and San bar were a little.

The Exo bar has a different type of protein. Can you guess what it is?

Yes, crickets. Specifically, cricket flour. If you can get over the cricket ingredient, they are good. Not too dry or too chewy. However, they are the most expensive brand. I won't be ordering anymore because of the cost and also I can't seem to get over the cricket ingredient.

Week In Review

I had zero sales on Bonanza, two sales on ebay and two sales on Facebook Marketplace.

I sold a bike rack and two lamps on Facebook. I didn't save the photos.

I sold a vintage Sea Wees carry case and an owl on ebay. The buyer of the owl hasn't paid yet.

Thrift Store Finds

I went to Goodwill today. Again, I only found two things. A cool looking robot and a coffee mug.

The robot is from an erector building kit. Once put together, it interacts with smart devices through bluetooth. He responds to more than 40 pre-programmed voice commands and 70+ phrases. He says over 4000 pre-programmed phrases, including jokes, fun facts and questions. He also can dance, do kung fu, exercise and high five.  I haven't downloaded the app yet.

The coffee cup is Darth Vader.

Managed Payments Part 2

Monday, I get a message from eBay saying if I sign up for managed payments by July 10, I can get a $50 fee credit. Yesterday, I decided to sign up. Of course, eBay can't verify my checking account. I used this account for Google Adsense so I'm not sure what the issue is with ebay. If they can't do something as simple as verifying a checking account, how am I supposed to trust them with my payments?

I Didn't Wish For That

I have a huge forehead. You might even say I have a fivehead. I thought maybe bangs would hide the fact but I wanted to see what I would look like without cutting my hair. I went to eBay and ordered a hairpiece. It was shipping from China so basically what one would find from Wish.

It came in the mail yesterday.

I tried it on. It's cut uneven. It's more red than light brown. I thought maybe it needs to be pushed to the side. I did that and summoned Justin Bieber, the early years.

I'm glad I didn't commit to cutting my hair. You get what you pay for, right? For now, my Saw puppet is enjoying it.

Weekend Sales

How was your weekend? Did you sell anything? I sold three items on eBay and nothing on Bonanza or Facebook Marketplace.

Last year, I bought my son a privacy pop tent. This is a tent that goes over your bed. I found it at an estate sale. Anyways, it came with a carry case so I sold the case.

Whenever I see Jellycat plush, I pick it up. Plush is a pretty slow seller but this brand seems to always sell for me along with the Scentsy buddies.

The last item I sold was this necklace. Our Goodwill sells bags of jewelry and I tend to look through them. This was in one of those bags.

None of these items were big money makers but every bit helps, right? Hope you have a good week of sales.

Thrift Store Finds

We stopped at Goodwill today on our way to get ice cream. I found two things that caught my eye: a giraffe pillow and a cat figurine.

Who doesn't love a giraffe with glasses and blowing bubbles, right.

I've seen the cat before but have never found one with the bowl. I think I will put the small painted rocks I have inside it.

Have you gone thrifting yet? Find anything good? Leave a comment below.

Managed Payments

Have you signed up for managed payments yet? Do you like it? Pros? Cons? I have until July 15 to sign up. I've been putting it off because I like having all my sales separate from my personal money. I did open a separate checking account but I still haven't linked it to my ebay.

In the comment section of ebay's Facebook page, someone stated that you can use PayPal as a checking account as they have their own routing number. It's for direct deposits only. If your account qualifies, it is supposed to be under settings. I don't see it on mine but I might call Monday to double check. Have you seen or heard this?

One reason I have been holding off is you have to wait for your money. It's immediate with PayPal but with managed payments, you have to wait two to five days for it to clear. Another one of my concerns was having to pay shipping labels out of my own pocket. An eBay rep stated you can use the pending payouts to pay for the labels. However, I have seen some comments stating they did not get an option for shipping labels. What has been your experience regarding this?

Are you waiting like me or have you already taken the plunge into managed payments? Leave a comment below.

Week in Review

It's been pretty slow on eBay for me this week. I sold one item on my main account and nothing on my second. I haven't sold anything on Bonanza for almost a year. I'm thinking I should close my booth but it is free to list there and your items never expire.

I took a best offer on this owl piggy bank. Owls are collectible but unless you have something rare or desirable, they do not sell for much.

I went to Goodwill today but didn't buy anything. There was this really cool clock that had gears but the glass had fallen out of the frame and was resting on the clock arms. I tried to fix it but there was no way to get to the glass to put it back into place.  I thought about taking a chance and buying it but they wanted $14.99 so I left it.

How was your week? Were your sales slow? Find anything at the thrifts? Leave a comment below.

What To Sell: Vintage Fisher Price Accessories

A few months ago, I started selling my vintage Fisher Price Little people play sets. My son outgrew them and they were taking up a lot of room. I listed several on ebay but they sat. I then decided to list them on Facebook marketplace for $40 each. They sold quickly but only because they had the accessories.

Over the years, I had collected several people, animals, furniture and vehicles. Whatever was left over from the play sets, I posted on ebay. It filled a 12 x 12 x 8 inch box. I listed them for $199.99 plus shipping and it sold within 24 hours.

Have you listed something that sold quickly? What was it? Drop a comment below.
