Steal Of A Deal

I only purchased two things today. Both were too good of a deal to pass up. The first item I found at the thrift store downtown and the second was at St Vinnie's.

I had my eye on this bench for about a month. I messaged the owner last night on Facebook to see if she still had it at her shop and how much it was. They are going out of business. She told me it was marked at $50 but they were having 40% off so I could get it for $30. I went there this afternoon to pick it up. It was actually marked at $75 but the owner honored the $50 price she quoted me on FB. With 40% off, I only paid $30 plus tax. I was going to put Ryker's extra books in the drawer, but he had other plans and put his toys in there.

This 6' x 9" area rug was rolled up and leaning against a shelf. I asked a worker if there were any stains on it and she told me if it had stains, they would not have put it out. But she went back and checked with the worker who rolled it up and put it out on the floor. He reassured me there were no stains. I couldn't believe they only wanted $20 since everything else seems so marked up. I unrolled it in my living room and it is perfect. It really doesn't even look used.

It's a light blue. I'm hoping with 2 boys, a dog and a hubby, it stays that way.

  1. Ah man, that bench would look great in my bay window. I've been looking for something like that to put toys in for when my great nieces and nephew come to visit. Great deals!

  2. The bench is gorgeous, and the rug is lovely. We have three kids, two cats, and one dog, and I gave up on having anything in a light color a long time ago :)
