Bill Watterson never licensed his characters so this is a bootleg but I still love it. I don't have a nice window to hang it from so I currently have it on my wall
I do porch pickup for selling on marketplace. I leave the item on the porch and the buyer leaves the cash where I instructed them to. I have never had an issue until Friday.
Buyer takes a $10 item and leaves $5. Ok so honest mistake, right? I message her and say what happened. She apologizes and says she will bring the $5 after work. I did tell her she could return the item and get her money back or bring me the 5.
Anyways, she never shows. She messages me and asks if she can bring the money in the morning. Fine, she can. That was yesterday and she never came over. Now I'm really mad and believe she did it on purpose. Guess it's my fault for trusting people.
If she brings me the money, I will delete this post.
I saw this fiberglass chair at the thrift store I volunteer at. The manager said I could have it as they couldn't sell it in such disrepair. I'm wondering can it be saved? If so, how? Otherwise I might see about getting a chair cover.
When you find something cool at the Goodwill and think it's vintage...
And you buy it, only to discover at home, the Made in China sticker on the back that you previously missed.
(My living room has big windows and a mural so there is no wall space. That's why it's so low to the floor. I'm thinking of getting something to put above the mirror to balance it out.)
I found this Cosco folding chair this morning at the Dime and Dollar. I don't really know how to upholster furniture but I thought it couldn't be too hard.
There are tabs under the seat you pull out and the seat comes off. I found this fun fabric at AbleLight thrift store and put it over the vinyl fabric. I'm sure this fabric would not stand up to every day use but since I won't be using it all the time, it should do for now.
I found a chicken purse Tuesday at Goodwill. I named her Chickaletta. My husband wasn't amused.
During the month of January, Goodwill hosted a drawing where you could win a gift card. Every time you made a purchase during the month, you could enter the drawing. The winner would be announced at the end of the month.
I go to Goodwill a lot so my chances of winning were pretty good. I was surprised though when I got the call saying my name was actually drawn. It was funny because I was in the parking lot when the store manager called me so I was able to claim my prize right away. This was Wednesday.
Today, I went and got these two items. I still have over 8 dollars left.
I had bought the orb previously and today found the gnome camping set. There was another piece, like a cooking pot but I didn't like it.
The other item I got was this bench with cubbies. It is all metal.
I saw this storage bin at Goodwill and decided to buy it. I don't normally pay this much but after seeing what is inside, I think it was worth it
What do you think? Is it worth it?
One of my all time favorite scores happened last Thursday. I found this vintage pole lamp. It needed a little work, it was missing the bottom rubber piece and a shade needed fixing but it works just fine.
Can you guess how many rubber ducks are inside this gumball machine? They range in size from 1" to 3" The person closest to the correct amount, will win the duck on top.

I've always wanted a gumball machine. I had a small standing one years ago but I sold it. Today, I found a 5 foot Wizard machine.
I haven't been able to check to see if it works because there is no key for the top and the gum is all melted inside. It was cheap because it has damage as well. Someone burned two holes into it to get free gum, I guess. One hole they patched with a washer and bolt. The other is still there. I'll probably end up buying a new globe.
The other day I found an arm chair at the thrift store. I liked the color and the style. I sat in it and it wasn't uncomfortable so I bought it.
Unfortunately, I failed to look underneath until today when I noticed some wood pieces on my floor. I flipped it over. The chair is made from mdf board. Not only that, but it appears to have gotten wet.
So, my friends, flip those chairs over before purchasing it.
Yesterday, I went to Goodwill and I spotted a wire rack on the cart a worker was putting out. On closer inspection, it was the top half of a candy rack. It was brand new with the cardboard still attached. For 9.99, I thought it would make a pretty cool shoe rack so I bought it. It extends so I can put more shoes on it.
Do you believe in cursed items? Do you believe spirits can attach themselves to certain things? Yesterday, my friend gave me a post mortem photograph to sell on ebay. It is a baby in a buggy who died on Christmas Eve 1915.
Last night, I woke up to a baby crying. I don't know if I was dreaming it or actually hearing it. It was quite spooky and took awhile to fall back asleep. I also felt something crawl into bed with me but my dog was in a different room. I may never sleep again. I will however, be putting the photo into my Bible.
Yesterday, I bought this shoe storage at Goodwill.
I noticed one side was on wrong or so I thought.
I had my husband switch it so the rough side would be on the inside and the smooth side would be facing out. After, I put my shoes in it, my husband asked if I had it sideways, like it should be 4 across and 3 up and down. I search on the internet and see he is right
So, the one side was never wrong. It was the bottom and not a side. I ended up switching the piece back.
I was at Goodwill this morning when they pulled out a stock cart. The workers usually bring a couple out and will let you look and pick while they are stocking the store shelves. On this cart were about 20 to 25 loose Funko Pops of different characters. I don't know much about Pops but grabbed six that looked promising.
I then went to get a cart to get the others because I had not gotten one upon entering the store. I feel if I grab a cart, it's bad luck and I won't find anything.
While I was gone, another shopper took all the Pops and put them into his cart. I looked up the six I had and only one was worth picking up for resale. I put two back and kept three.
I found this swivel chair at Goodwill this past weekend. I fell in love with it, the moment I saw it. And for 12.99, it was definitely going home with me.
I posted it on Facebook and some of my friends liked it and others, not so much. So, what do you think? Love it or hate it?
I went to St Vincent thrift store this morning and found this unique item. Someone upcycled their old AOL disks inside two pieces of acrylic, added legs and made a side table. I don't know if there is a market for these but I did buy it. It seems like it would be a great conversation piece.
I found this lounge chair the other day at Goodwill. Our area has two Goodwill stores and this one I don't go to often. There is a boutique located inside the store and a lot of cool stuff is tagged display/store use only. I get discouraged and don't even want to look. However, my husband had to go to the DMV and since we were on that side of town, we stopped.
At first, I didn't find anything I wanted. I was about to leave when I saw a worker pushing a cart with the chair on it. He was headed towards the boutique and I thought it was going to be a store use only tag. I caught up to him and asked if it was for sale. He said I think so. I told him I wanted it and grabbed the tag. I felt a little bad as he had to push it to the back because here you pick up furniture from the donation drop off.
When I got it home, I looked it up online. I was quite surprised to see the retail price. I also didn't notice it had hidden storage. Mine is gray like the Walmart ad. My phone camera is really weird with color.
