Thrifty Tuesday Finds

Yesterday we went to Goodwill and I found this Marx play set. I remember reading that vintage Marx toys can go for a lot of money so I was pretty excited to spot the Navarone Giant Play Set sitting on the top shelf of the toy aisle. I was getting ready to leave but decided to look down that aisle one more time.

It is missing the toy soldiers and some other stuff but I'm hoping I to make a good profit. Some sold for between $200 and $300 You can view my listing here.

I also found some more plush but nothing that is a high money maker.

2 Alf puppets I know have 3 of these available for sale

Last week, I went over to the thrift store by my house and found some vintage Playmates toys. I have 3 sets of these but only listed 2 for now because Ryker broke the door to the airplane on one.

Mixed in with those were these other figures. I wanted to find out what play set they belonged to so I sent an email to Playmates Toys. The lady who responded said she had never seen them and that they were not by Playmates. I asked in one of my Facebook ebay groups and another member told they were from Unimax and they were space explorers.

I also won this lot of vintage plush toys on Ebay at the beginning of the month. I was quite disappointed when they arrived. They were dirty and smelled of mildew. It was too costly to mail them back, so I thought I would try to salvage what I could by washing them. Most of them came somewhat cleaned but a few did not survive the washer. I have already made my money back on 3 of the animals so the rest is profit. This is the listing picture, not mine.

October Sales

October was pretty slow in Ebay land. I had a total of 51 sales. Since I was moving, I was grateful for this little break but now I need things to pick up.

Some of my highs:

Alf doll for $59.95 plus shipping This went to Canada

Breyer Phantasma Horse $64.99 with free shipping

Enesco Owl Creamer set $55 free shipping

Barbie Polaroid Camera $31.99 plus shipping

and my lows:

Engine, Engine Number 9 book $4.99 with free shipping

Little Einsteins Plush Rocket $9.95 with free shipping

VTG Pencil erasers $9.99 with free shipping

Peek a Blocks Wagon Replacement Divider $9.99 with free shipping (This alone paid for the wagon I am trying to sell on Facebook)

Since we moved into a bigger house, I have my own room for my Ebay hoard. I really need to organize it better because a lot of the time, I end up searching two bins to find something that sold. Also there are no outlets so my computer and printer are down stairs.

Another Alf Puppet and Some More Finds

I found another Alf puppet at Goodwill. This one is different than the last one I sold but hopefully it will sell as fast. I also found some blank cassette tapes NIP, a Bob The Builder blanket, snow pants for Ryker and a cup and saucer from World Market. Total for everything was $11.01 and that included the candle I blogged about here

The next items I found at the thrift store last Monday. I paid $3.11 for everything. Not pictured is a camera Robbie got.

I love this cute makeup mirror. If it does not sell, I think I will repaint the frame.

I love the illustrations in this 1967 book. Sally is so cool but she would now be called a flight attendant. I think this would make a sweet gift for one.

Weekend Finds: Owls, A Suitcase and More

On Saturday we got to check out the new Goodwill in Rib Mountain. It was still quite crowded but I did manage to find a few items. They did not have much of a selection for toys but I found a Stitch plush and a Victoria Secret Pink dog. I also found an owl trivet. The Alf puppet was found by my DH at a garage sale he went to earlier.

paid $4.72

On Friday, I found a vintage suitcase along with some more Little Golden books and owls at my favorite thrift store. I just love the gourd with the owl etched into it. It is currently being displayed in my bird cage.

paid $5.28

I am selling the two white owls but am keeping the other two.

I love this little red suitcase and it will be hard to part with once it sells. I'm really hoping the ripped pocket does not deter potential buyers. I thought of fixing it but I have no sewing ability whatsoever.
