Can We Fix It?

Yes, we can. This morning I found two six cube storage shelves at Goodwill. They were wobbly but for 3.99 each, I thought I'd take the chance and try to fix them.

Unfortunately,  it wasn't as easy as tightening some screws. I looked online to see if there was a solution. I saw a reddit post where someone stated most people do not nail the back on these which is important to it's stability.

I was lucky enough to find two pieces of paneling that fit perfectly on the bottom half. It worked.

Upcycling a Media Center

My son doesn't have a closet in his room so I decided to make him one. Well, actually a wardrobe. I found a media center for 9.99 at Goodwill. It had a couple of scratches but otherwise in good condition. My husband had a closet rod, cut it down to fit and screwed it in place. I forgot to take a photo beforehand.

The next day, I found drawers that I thought would fit perfectly in the bottom. Unfortunately,  I did not include the handles when measuring so the media center doors would not close. I ended up taking them off. This is the final project.

Check Mate

I found this oversized chess board at Goodwill yesterday. It's 32" x 32". When I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for the coffee table base I had.

It came with a box of Avon bottle chess pieces.

YArt

Meet YArt (yard art) the whale. I found him at Goodwill this morning hanging out in the furniture department.

At first, I thought he was one of those springy playground ride on toys missing the seat. I messaged one of my friends and he said it looked homemade. I then decided he must be yard art. I went and got a cart, paid for him and took him home.

My husband said he is made from a motorcycle gas tank, fly wheel and used welding rods. He's currently hanging out in my yard. (YArt, not my husband)

Fake or Real

Yesterday,  I bought a Coach purse from Goodwill. Usually,  I'm fairly good at spotting a fake but this one has me stumped. The stitching is on point, the hardware is heavy and tight, the material is nice and it has the creed patch. However, the C pattern doesn't look neatly aligned and it is missing the horse and buggy logo. It is from a factory outlet so I'm not sure if that is why?

That Was Easy

I bought this standing basket organizer earlier today. I posted it on FB marketplace and within two hours it was sold.

People in this area, love these organizers. I've had good luck selling baskets, cabinets and general storage. I pick them up whenever I see them and they usually sell within a few hours of posting. What are some good sellers for you? Post a comment below.

F U Gnome Thief

Two days ago, I added a gnome sitting on a glass mushroom to my kindness rock garden. If you don't  know what a kindness rock is, I'll  explain.  People in our community  paint rocks and hide them around town. Some rocks have pictures or designs and others have quotes. A few people  like myself have created rock gardens where you can trade these rocks.

I check my garden frequently for new rocks. Saturday morning I looked and my gnome was still in my garden. By 1 in the afternoon,  it was gone. It makes me so sad someone would take it. I have an idea who did it but no proof. I'm hoping it will be returned but I doubt it.

I made a sign and hopefully whomever took my gnome sees it and feels guilty. Don't take something that doesn't belong to you. I might not have seen you do it, but God certainly did.

A Bit Of Nostalgia

In 1983 our town built a mall. They had a grand opening in August of that year.

Late last year plans were made to demolish the mall as stores were leaving this area. The mall officially closed in April of this year and it is currently being torn down.

Some of the items inside the mall went to auction while others were donated to the Habitat store. A few weeks ago, I noticed on their FB page, they had some food court tables and chairs for sale.  I really wanted a piece of the mall and last Saturday my hubby bought me a set. Here it is in our breakfast nook.

Love it Hate it

I fell in love with this armless seatee I saw yesterday at Goodwill. Tagged at 9.99, it had to be mine.

I love the color. I love the size. I love how it works in my living room. But I hate how uncomfortable it is. It's the size of a crib mattress and honestly I think that is what it's made of. No matter how I sit, it's uncomfortable and forget about laying down on it. Why can't something look nice and be comfortable too?

Thrift Store Bucket List Find

I've been wanting a piece of stained glass after seeing a few pieces in a thrift store find group on Facebook. I didn't find one piece but two pieces!

This big one is faded but I do love it. I found it two days ago at Goodwill. Today, I found the smaller piece at the same Goodwill.

Here they are hanging up. The bigger one, I had to hang inside my enclosed porch. The other is hanging in my kitchen.

Kangaroo Caddy

I found this vintage kangaroo yesterday at Goodwill. It is a dresser caddy. One would put their watch on the tail, their change in the pouch and their wallet in the back. Do you know what movie made this little guy famous?

I am Negan

I found some Negan Pops today along with Dwight. They were all in one bag for a set price.

I also bought this weird face thing. I thought it was to hold your glasses but mine fall down the nose. Any idea what it's for?

Good Things Come...

Last month, I spotted this 80s coffee table at GW in the boutique. Unfortunately, it wasn't for sale.

I asked a boutique worker if the table would be up for sale. She said when they change their displays, it would be priced. I left my number with the hopes she would call when it was for sale.

Today, I got the call. Unfortunately, it is policy not to hold items so I got there as soon as I could. Luckily, it was still there.

I've also wanted to purchase a keurig. I found one at another GW for $14.99 I didn't want to pay that much, it was quite dirty, and left it there. When I went to get the table, they were bringing out a cart and there was a keurig. This GW priced theirs at $4.99 Needless to say, I bought it.

I also found a Dunder Mifflin water bottle.

Mirror, Mirror

Yesterday, I found this standing mirror at Goodwill. Two other people were looking at it, so I stood in another aisle waiting to see if they would buy it. They walked away and another person beat me to it. She also walked away. Not wanting to lose out, I grabbed it and carried it to the cashier. You can never find any help and I didn't want to leave it unattended.

If you open it up, there is storage for jewelry.

These retail for around $100 so I got a good deal. It's in really nice shape but I think it's missing the bottom drawer.

Basket Ideas?

I bought this today without knowing what I was going to use it for. It's about 30 inches tall. Any suggestions?

It seems too tall to use on a counter.
