Thrifty Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Most of the presents I bought my children were purchased from the thrift store or Goodwill. They didn't seem to mind. Ryker got some rescue heroes purchased from my facebook group, some legos from Goodwill and this awesome desk from Bethesda. I paid only $20 for it.

Today, Bethesda had 50% off their entire store. I wish I had more time to shop. They are having the sale tomorrow as well so I might go back. They don't have much for toys or children's books and most of their clothing doesn't look stylish to me. I did get a few things such as this vtg Dakin plush:

this Baby Essentials bear:

and this stripped kitty cat:

I also bought two books, two rescue heroes, and a spiderman figure for Ryker, a first dolly for my grandbaby and a vtg hand mixer for myself.

Facebook Christmas Gifts

I did some of my Christmas shopping on my Facebook garage sale site. Here are a few things I picked up fairly cheap.

Cabin/fishing night light The sun glows and it's very pretty.

Fiber optics snowman The tree has green and red lights and the presents light up as well.

Bird House Welcome Sign I have to keep telling myself I do not need this. It is so cute I want to keep it for myself. (Hoarding can become a slippery slope and it's not something I want to fall down) It stands at almost 3 feet.

I didn't find these on Facebook and they are not gifts but thought I would share. I have been looking for birds like these forever. I got 2 of the red robins and 2 of the red sparrows.

I have two of these deer. I wish I could have found more. They are so precious.

The $6 Box

Last week I met with a lady selling a blow mold nutcracker for $3.

As I was there, she was buying some things for another person. I heard the seller say "I wanted $5 a piece for these, but I will sell you the whole box for $6." She was thinking about it and I said "If you don't take it, I will." I didn't even know what was in the box but it was pretty big and whatever she was selling, she had at least 3 of them. My seller said "Go for it. I don't have room in my house." So I paid the second seller $6 and went on my way. I still did not have a clue what was in the box until I got home.

I found 4 Santa tree toppers:

2 Christmas ornaments:

and a bear storage container:

I have already sold the first Santa for $29.99. Sometimes it pays to buy those mystery boxes.

Hey Jealousy

Often times when I read Sir Thrift A Lot's blog, I feel a twinge of jealousy over all the great items he has scored over the past year at thrift stores. Now it's your turn to be jealous, Mr. Thrift. For today I found the ultimate thrifting treasure just in time for Christmas. and it only cost....

So what exactly did I find? A vintage aluminum pom pom Christmas tree in the box. In the box? Yes, you read that correctly.

It even had all it's paper sleeves. Now I need to find one of those elusive color wheels.

What $5 Bought

I walked over to the Dime and Dollar and they were having half off all their Christmas stuff for today only. I found some cute stuff but even with half off, it was out of my price range. Here is what I did get though.

Four cotton spun snowmen These are really cute. I'm debating whether or not to put them in my Ebay store. Right now I have them posted on my Facebook garage sale page. The big ones are 12" and the little ones are 9" and 10".

Fireman Santa Figure This is pending sale on my Facebook Group. There is a member that collects firemen stuff and he has bought from me in the pass.

and some Blue's Clues figures (not half off but only a dime a piece)

California Roller Girl

My husband won this at an auction yesterday. It is a California Roller Girl doll made by Mattel in the 90's. It is in a store display case. We tried to get it to work yesterday but I think it needs new batteries. Hopefully, it will work in the display box and also out of it. I think it's pretty cool but judging by complete listings on Ebay, they don't sell too well. I thought maybe being in a display case would increase the value but one sold for only $17.99

Facebook Finds

I found some good items on my Facebook group to flip on Ebay.

I have not listed this lamp yet. In September this lamp was selling between $75 and $99 Now it seems everyone has theirs priced less than $40 I think I may wait until the beginning on December and list it high with best offer.

Just sold this today for $24.99

This morning I sold this owl ornament for $17.99

Some mini owls

UGG Boots I got an offer of $45 the first day I listed but declined. I am hoping to get closer to my asking price. I originally bought them for myself but the are slightly tight. I can wear them but they are not comfortable.

Some Ty Pluffies. I'm not sure how well these will do but I got them pretty cheap.

What $5 Got

I went to the thrift store yesterday to look at their "I Wonder Why" books but they wanted $1 each so I passed. They don't seem to sell for much on Ebay. Instead I got all this for less than $5

Aren't the Dr Seuss Converse shoes cool? They are actually Ryker's size and if they don't sell this month, I may keep them for him. The Wakey Wakey book I'm keeping as well.

$20 Thrift Store Finds

I found all this at two different thrift stores for less than $20

I already sold the Dora books on Facebook for $8

Tomorrow, I am selling the Dr Seuss books for $15, The Toy Story Books for $6, and the Dora, Toy Story and Princess sound books for $9 All from Facebook.

I have listed the Avon Christmas tree, the Skelanimal Cat, the Sandra Boynton mug, and the Manhattan Toy Co Feltopia on Ebay.

I can not find any pencil prints like these on Ebay. They say on the bottom Copyright 1953 Eberhard Faber Pencil Co. I had no clue what to price them at and thought about doing an auction but since I got free fixed listings for 3 days (special email invite) I listed them in a variation listing at $19.99 It would be so sweet it someone bought them all. Maybe I underpriced them and someone will.

The static electricity light I gave to Robbie.

Goodwill Finds

I found some good buys yesterday at Goodwill.

Dora Talking Doll House. I'm hoping to sell this on Facebook. If it doesn't sell in a week, I may list it on Ebay. One model has been recalled and I do not have that model but since Ebay pulled my Baby Einstien Musical Turtle crib toy, even though mine wasn't the recalled model, I am hesitant to list it.

Some rescue heroes. I already have a buyer on Facebook for these. I just need to wait for her to come to my city. This will pay for everything I got.

I found some TMNT for $1.49 I'm not sure how well they will do but I saw some on Facebook that 2 people were interested in but that seller was only ask $3 and I kind of want to make more than that.

I haven't got these toys out of the packaging yet. I need to do that and get them listed. The front side has this Ranch toy and the back has a veterinary hut. There are 2 vehicles on top and a bunch of animals. Not sure if you can see it, but I love the owl in the tree of the vet hut.
