Goodwill Finds

Just a few things I found at Goodwill this week

a huge bag of Polly Pockets I've had good luck with Polly Pocket in the past and the price was right. At the check out another lady saw the bag and said "You are going to make someone very happy" and I thought yeah I will be happy if I can flip this for a good profit. She also asked me how much I paid if I didn't mind telling her. I told her the price and she said "Oh I wish I had been a little faster." Earlier, she was entering the toy aisle as I was exiting. I stopped her to tell her the bag of Fisher Price toys she was holding, was missing pieces. It was the ABC zoo and only had 18 animals. I know because I was going to buy it but put it back.

Some yoga cards I thought were interesting

A tiki vase or mug I know nothing about tiki but one of the blogs I follow Love of the Hunt collects tiki so I thought there should be a market for it. It would be great for holding pens or pencils.

I have never seen a Care Bear full body puppet before.

This puppy by Carter's still had his tags attached. I looked on the Carter's website and it appears you can not buy him anymore. Used ones on Ebay were listed around $25 so I am hoping to get a little more than that.

A singing Tyrone from the Backyardigans He is dressed as a Mountie.

and the bunny rabbits from Guess How Much I love You. If this doesn't sell on it's own, I may add the book. I think I have it here somewhere.

Oh My God, They Donated Kenny!

Poor Kenny. He's been to Hell, Heaven, Mexico and the Goodwill. That is where I found him on Friday. At the Goodwill. I brought him home and Ryker has been attached to him ever since. He is a 7 inch plastic coin bank and is currently sitting on the shelf above my computer. I really like him, so I priced him high in my Ebay store.

Here are some more finds from that trip.

Those puzzle pieces in front make an alphabet giraffe. I sold a similar one last year and hope to get the same price for this one. This one is in better condition and on the back side has number 1-26

I never find any Wilton cake pans and when I found the Pink Panther one, I was pretty stoked. Then I checked completes and wasn't stoked anymore.

I would have never picked up the Rolodex but there was a Bolo topic on it over on proboards. The metal ones go for the most money.

My sister picked up this Polly Pocket carry case. She was going to buy it for her kids, but then changed her mind. I know Polly Pocket sells well, so I bought it. I only found one other like this but it was in a lot. If it doesn't sell by itself, I will wait until I get a bunch of Polly stuff. I made a good profit last summer and Mattel sent me a check for $35 for sending in the recalled ones.

The other puzzle pieces are magnetic and you can mix the pieces up to make new animals.

The race track and two cars, I'm keeping for Ryker. It was .99 cents

Creepy guy at the thrift store...

Seriously, STOP hitting on me.

I walked over to my favorite thrift store today and had 2 teensy weensy (ok they were paper shopping bags) full of stuff to donate. I crammed them under Ryker's stroller with the hopes of getting rid of them there. When I arrived, I asked the guy where I can put my donations. He gave me a funny look and asked what they were. I said some clothes and other stuff. He replied "We are not taking any more donations. You'll have to try Goodwill or somewhere else." Yeah Ok I'll just walk the 9 miles to get there.

Dilemma, dilemma. What to do? I certainly did not want to bring the items back home but I couldn't leave them there. Or could I? I went to the back of the store (this place is a huge warehouse with 2 sides) and when no one was looking, I shoved my bags under a table and covered them up with a tarp. (I really hope t.s. guy isn't reading this and if you are, I most certainly did not do that.... oh and stop hitting on me. You are creeping me the fuck out) So can I actually get away with this? Did they see the big bags when I came in? Who the hell am I fooling? You'd have to be blind not to. Would they noticed said big bags were no longer under my stroller?

Getting away getting away... I looked around for about 30 minutes when not creepy guy found me and started talking to me. He apologized about not being able to take the donations (oh yeah you took them. You just don't know it yet) and about how they have so much stuff. He also told me they could no longer sell clothes because of something to do with the lease. It wasn't in the contract or some other bull shit. Anyways, I was starting to feel a little guilty about sneaking my items into their store. I quickly got over that when I found this beauty. Who doesn't need a stretched out Coke bottle?

Seriously, how cool is that? (I am becoming more of a hoarder each and every day) Some other items I picked up included some Polly Pocket crap (I'll save until I get some more to sell in a lot), Blue's Clues Christmas ornaments in house case, a hand held electronic game Robbie picked up along with another view master. The last two items are not pictured because Robbie took off with them.

I only paid $1.10 for all this awesomeness. and my bags of crap... still undiscovered under the table I hope.

Thrifty Thursday Finds

The rain has kept me out of my favorite thrift store all week. It is only a few blocks away from me, so I usually grab the stroller and take Ryker for a walk over there. Today it was raining on and off. I was dying to get out of the house and satisify my thrifting itch. So Ryker and I were off. The rain managed to stay away until we were about a block from the store. It was barely sprinkling so on we went. Of course when it was time to leave, it had stopped completly but started up again after a block. Then it was a heavier rainfall. We were wet but it was worth it. Here are todays finds:

Huge lot of Polly Pockets Just found out some of these were recalled :-(

Lamb Chop plush

This bear from Build a Bear workshop. It has the Texas Rangers logo on it.

Plus I found the television part to the Vtech Vsmile Baby Learning system.

Even with the rain, it wasn't too bad of a day. What treasures did you find?

Happy hunting!
