Thrifty Finds

New color this week at the thrift store. Purple tags were half off.

Yes, those are granny panties sitting on my table. Some of them can go for big money. I put best offer on mine hoping I can get a good price.

I thought these bookends were cool.

I can't resist vintage aprons. I might put these in my Etsy shop.

Some vintage lacing blocks

More plush

Air Force coffee mug

Marine Corps mug

and of course, the granny panties

All items are available for sale in my Ebay store here

Dismal Sales More Retail Therapy

I don't know what the heck is happening with my Ebay store. I ran a traffic report yesterday and it said I had 529 page views for the month of January. In December, I had 3,305. I thought ok maybe the time of year. People are paying their credit card bills and have stopped shopping. But then I looked at last years page views 4,540 Ummm, yeah something is seriously wrong on the bay. Anyone else experiencing little to no traffic? How can I sell anything if I'm not getting any page views?

There is a theory that the more you list, the more you sell. Right now I'm at over 600 items, a significant increase compared to last year at this time. I look at other sellers items that are similar to mine and they are selling. Why aren't mine selling? I pinterest, tweet and advertise my listings on Facebook. I tweek my listings, run sales and still little to nothing. What else can I do?

Guess I can shop and increase my inventory for when the buyers return. Yesterday, I went to the thrift store to look for a Ty Boos I saw there a few days back. Apparently, these Boos can go for big money. I did find him but of course he is one that isn't a high seller. Oh well maybe next time. Here's some things I found. A lot were half off as they were the color tag of the month.

The Snuggle bear is recalled so I can not sell that. The recall says the eyes and nose fall off. I tried pulling them off without success. Little kids must be chewing them off or something. The books and the alligator pull toy are for Ryker. I got the baby bottle because it goes with something I bought awhile ago but I can't remember what. The brown bear is the Ty Boos Honey bear.

I can't resist vintage plush so I bought the koala bear even though she is missing her baby. Maybe I will get lucky and find it another time. The monkey is called Little Monkey Lost. I looked at solds and some seem to go for good money. Except mine of course.

I'm seriously thinking of keeping the nail art train picture. It's kind of cool. I haven't researched it yet.

Sunday Auctions

I decided to clear out my old inventory so I listed 200 auctions. They ended yesterday. Most of my auctions ended at the starting bid of $2. I had 34 items sell for a total of $137.49 before fees. I made a few dollars on shipping but honestly, this was too much work for too little profit. Most of the items I shipped in a poly mailer and went First Class.

These were my highest ending auctions.

Coach Raina shoes starting bid $9.99 ending bid $20

Giani handbag $9.99

VTG Lipstick holder Starting bid $2 ended $9.50

Cabbage Patch Kids shoes Starting bid $2 ended $5.76 Buyer has not paid yet

Cabbage Patch Kids shoes Starting bid $2 ended $3.50

I had one buyer bid on 12 of my auctions. All those ended at $2 They were mostly Dream Pets.

The rest of the auctions ended at $2 to $2.50 Did I mention I hate running auctions. better luck next time

Slow Sales Retail Therapy

I have been pretty bummed out about my slow sales on Ebay this month. In the pass 7 days, I have only sold 3 things. I looked at last year and right now I made half of what I did last January. Of course, when you call Ebay they say it's that time of year when everyone is slow and buyers are not spending. Oh really? Then how come every time I go to my Facebook Ebay group, there are sellers saying how much they sold over the weekend. And yes, I sell similar things and I price competitively.

Anyways, here is what I found today. The Spongebobs and the stroller are for Ryker.

I can't seem to stop buying Fieval. I think I have 3 or 4 of him. He will not sell for me no matter what I have him priced at. I also offer free shipping. The Lolly doll was dirty so right now she is taking a spin in my washer. I really hope I don't destroy her.

I found this really weird duck. It has springs in the middle and bounces. Unfortunately, I did not notice the hole in the back of his head so I may have to try to mend that.

I also don't have much luck selling Folkmanis puppets but I had to get this cow.

The Popple is drier fried. I hate when people do that.

Little Orphan Annie

I didn't notice the collar on this Strawberry Shortcake lamb had stickers on it. I'll have to remove them and retake the photos. I hate taking photos. They never look good enough.

I have never seen this dog before and the tag says Pillow Pets. He is by Dakin.

The gloworm is missing his light. I'm not sure if he will sell or not. Fingers crossed that he will.

I got the free listings promo for tomorrow, so I will be listing these in my store. If you are interested in anything you see, shoot me a message.

Thursday Thrifty Finds

It's been pretty cold here this week so I haven't ventured out until today. I found a few things for resale and some things to keep.

The steam buddy I am keeping and I can always use hangers. The barrel of monkeys and the toy vise grip is for Ryker. The rest I am putting on Ebay.

I couldn't resist the frog from Bugs Bunny. This one is a plush and doesn't sing. The Roger Rabbit is a window cling toy.

I always pick up the puffalumps from Fisher Price. The pots and pans are also from Fisher Price and I have to check to make sure they are not the recalled ones. Since it is missing the lid, spoon and blocks, I'll probably just piece it out for replacements.

I haven't checked out this Little Tikes toy and I'm not even sure what it is called. You push the blocks through their holes and the lights in the back light up and music plays.

I said I wasn't going to pick up any more coffee mugs, but I couldn't resist this Pilsbury Dough Boy one.

I will be listing these items later tonight in my Ebay store. If you are interested in anything, shoot me a message.

Top 10 Thrifty Sales of 2013

My top 10 favorite finds I sold this year. It was hard to choose 10 because I have sold quite a bit and some items may have sold higher than these. I really liked these items and probably would have kept them if I wasn't selling on Ebay.

I believe I found this typewriter at Goodwill. I love vintage typewriters and thought the blue was unique but I'm pretty sure we had this exact typewriter in high school. I sold this for $79.99 It was a challenge to ship.

I bought this Pokemon bedding set from my Facebook garage sale group. I sold it for $79.99 to a student who said it arrived in time for her to pack for her dorm.

I found two of these travel bar sets and sold both to the same buyer. One I found at Goodwill and the second at a thrift store. My sister found one at a garage sale and thought something was missing (it wasn't. It was the spot was for the bottle of alcohol) so she did not say anything to me. I sold this one for $65

This canister set was purchased from the thrift store by my house. Unfortunately, the biggest container arrived at the buyer's house broken in several pieces. Sold for $60

These monkey slippers were bought by a lady for her boyfriend. When they met, he was wearing a similar pair. (I didn't ask) They sold for $45

I would have never known what this cat was if I had not seen it on one of the Ebay FB groups. It is a kitty surprise that came with 4 kittens. Found at Goodwill and sold for $50 I believe it went international.

I love this little camera purse. I bought it at a thrift store and sold it for $24.99

I won this from an auction site that has since went under. It was a local place and my hubby went to pick it up. This Mickey ornament sold for $57.00

I figured this Animal ornament would be a good seller and I was surprised to see what it was selling for. I found it at the thrift store and it sold for $64.99

and my favorite find came from Craigslist. I asked for help pricing this item on an Ebay FB page and was told I would be lucky to make $20. What he did not consider is this is the checkered plaid Burberry bear and I ended up getting $59.99 Other Burberry bears do not sell this high.

looking for something for that someone special? check me out on Ebay here.

Cosmo Collection

A few years ago, I went on Ebay to search for a replacement bear I had as a child. I wrote a post about it here. When I found him last year, I wrote another post. I have yet to come across one at a thrift store or Goodwill, however I did manage to find 3 more on Ebay. I may have a bear addiction.

I really wish I could find chains for all of them. The one on the right, came today. His ears are a little dirty and he is a little lopsided. He originally came with the gold chain, but I put it on the one that looked better. My son Ryker loves them all.
