Checking It Off My Want List

I have been wanting a library card catalog for some time. Unfortunately, they can be quite pricey. A few days ago we were coming back from McDonalds and I noticed a consignment shop I hadn't seen before. I'm sure it has been there for awhile. My husband doesn't like to go thrifting so I thought I would walk over there when the weather was good. Thursday, I had my chance.

On top of a dresser was a library card catalog. I looked it over and while it wasn't in pristine shape, it wasn't terrible either. I checked the price tag. I didn't have enough funds in my paypal so I left empty handed.

Luckily the next day, I sold two items on Ebay and had enough to cover the cost. I couldn't remember the name of the shop to call so I googled consignment shop and the avenue it was on and my city and their facebook page popped up. I called and asked if they still had the card catalog. They did and I told her I would be there shortly to pick it up.

It is quite heavy and my sister and I had a hard time getting it into her clown car. (Seriously, she has a clown car. You can't fit anything into it)

I plan on having my husband put heavy duty casters on it and using it as a coffee table like the one here.

Fabulous Finds

I found some good stuff  in the pass week.

I've always wanted one of these vintage record holders. This one needs to be stained but the price was right. I'm thinking of putting Ryker's story books in the slots.

This was an impulse buy. I originally went into the consignment shop to see if I had any money in my account. It was a steal and all I had to do was put three missing bolts on the bottom to fix it. It barely fit into my sister's clown car but I was determined to make it happen even if it meant being squished in the back with my two children.

I love this bathroom shelf but unfortunately the only wall it would fit on was the wall next to the toilet. My husband said "Great now I'm going to hit my head every time I use the bathroom" Well, honey, I hung it up high enough and the only way that is possible is if you are standing on the toilet and leaning to the left.

Some monkeys for my desk. I priced these super high on Ebay so I could keep them for awhile but not be a hoarder because they are listed.

And some cute little cupcake/muffin dolls. Also listed on Ebay and the first doll has already sold and will be on her way to France in the morning.

Selling Clothes

I have been busy this week trying to list clothing on Ebay. I do not like selling clothes. They are hard for me to photograph, (I can never get the color right) I hate measuring and I think there is a high risk for returns. However, they are super easy to ship and do not take up much room.

The consignment shop had dollar tag clothes this week and today they added .50 cent tags. You have to search through all the racks to find the color tag because they are not sorted out. The store probably has 25+ racks and with Ryker, I am lucky to get through 3 before he acts up. Here are some of my favorites that I found. I may go back tomorrow as well.

I passed over this dress on Monday thinking no one would buy it because it is so long. I bought it on Tuesday and sold it within 10 minutes of listing it. I love the baby blue color but it wasn't my size.

This skirt sold fast too.

This golf skort is new with tags. I noticed the brand, Bobby Jones, sells discount items on Ebay. They are selling a similar one for $49.99

I was shocked to see another seller selling this swimsuit for $149.99 Mine also is new but is missing the outer store tag and the clerk tore off half the inside tag. It is by Louis Vuitton designer Stephen Sprouse.

I found this prom dress today. It also is new. It's very pretty and can't imagine spending $148 on something I never wore. The consignment shop price was $30 but I only paid $1 because it was the color tag. Poor consignee only got .50 cents from her investment.

Love the pink flowers on this dress

I normally do not look at baby clothes but who could resist this cute little dress from Tommy Hilfiger. Three different views. I listed this on my Facebook group.

I have some more but need to get listing. You can't sell it if you don't list it. Btw the two items I sold, paid for everything I bought this week so the rest is pure profit.

Weekly Finds

My finds this week. Most are for sale in my Ebay store or will be.

From the consignment shop: Brobee Pillow Pal, Fisher Price Learning Letters mailbox, Peek a blocks wagon and Wilton Gingerbread Boy cake pan. The wagon no longer played music, so I already sold it on my Facebook group for $15. I kept the yellow divider to sell on Ebay as most of the used wagons are missing them.

Thrift Store Finds: I overpaid on most of this stuff and will no longer go back there. They have great vintage things but want to much for them. The puzzles are for Ryker.

These squirrels are just the cutest. How can anyone resist those fluffy tails?

The little bear on top of the train case is an AC/DC Bear. Here is his back.

Goodwill Finds: I couldn't resist the Hello Kitty. She was the half off colored tag. I don't think she is worth much on Ebay so I am trying to sell her on Facebook. I'm not sure how well the hot rollers will sell but they were cheap enough to buy them.

Isn't that Snoopy mug awesome? It says Pardners on the back.

A New Desk

Last Thursday, I spotted a desk with hutch at the thrift store. Someone had repainted it a rust orange and all the drawers were painted shut. I really liked the style but not the color. The price was $65 I left it there because 1. I didn't have enough cash 2. I didn't have a way to get it home 3 The color. I told my hubby about it and he said if I bought it he would get it home. I thought about it all weekend. I could learn to love the orange until I got it repainted and perhaps they would take a lower offer. I called Sunday morning and it was not to be. They had sold it the day before.

Yesterday, I took some stuff to the consignment store and decided to look around. I bought some clothes for resale, paid and left. They have an additional building where all their furniture is. I decided to take a peek. And I found a similar desk and hutch for the same price but in it's original color. I called my hubby and he said he would pick it up for me.

So I got it. But there was one problem.

See that piece of trim? My laptop would not open with that trim there. So I removed it.

Unfortunately, that did not solve my problem. I will need to get a slimmer cooling pad for my lap top in order for the desk to be functional.

Let's just keep this a secret from my hubby as he didn't want me to get a new desk.

Goodwill Finds

My kids are on summer break but I still managed to get to Goodwill yesterday. I found some great stuff I hope to make some good money on.

They are not the coveted Remington hot rollers but I found two sets of Clairol. The first set is the red box model C-20-1 and the second is Professional Hairsetter/Instant 20 and came with clips.

The purple fan is for the house. We don't have central air and it is getting quite hot. I found some Anchor Hocking Strawberry Shortcake mugs. They are in great condition.

A little research showed these rabbit handle mug are Enesco. They are so cute.

The consignment shop by my house has marked down their orange color clothing tags to a dollar. I bought a bunch of skirts and pants today. I also bought this cute little zoo toy. If it isn't worth much, I will let Ryker keep it.

Quick Flip

On Monday, I went over to the consignment shop to check out a playhouse I saw through the window on Sunday. There was no price sticker, so I went to the counter and asked if it was already sold. The owner said not really. A woman called that morning and asked to come look at it. She also told me the price $119 Ummm I wasn't expecting  that kind of price tag. Anyways I went to see what other toys they might have and I spotted a Fisher Price Super Star musical stage for $7.

It was missing the microphone but that was ok as I had found one Friday when I went garage saleing with Sarah. I listed it on Ebay for $39.99 with free shipping. It sold the next day. Shipping cost me $9.79 Not a big profit but definitely a fast return.

Like I Need Another One

I sold this on facebook

and bought this at the consignment shop:

I currently have 15 lamps in my house: 5 in the living room, 2 in the dining room, 2 in the closet, 3 in the garage, 1 in Ryker's bedroom, 1 in the basement and 1 in our bedroom. Who the hell needs 15 lamps? Seriously, 5 alone in the living room. Most people don't have that many in their entire house. I need an intervention. Anyone want a lamp?

Just Because I Think...

... it's cool, doesn't necessarily mean it will sell. I should have known this action figure would be a dud since she hadn't sold at the consignment shop and was now 75% off. I bought her thinking I could maybe make $20 profit. I had no clue who she was, so I posted her pic on the ebug proboards page. One of the members told me she was Angela from the Spawn comics. I looked her up on Terapeak and sighed. I then looked her up on Amazon. Another sigh. She did not come in her box but someone had put lights under her stand. (a foam piece that fits under her base) I listed her with a best offer and also put her on my facebook group page. One of my friends thought she was cool and I tried to convince him to buy her, but no dice. To see my listing, click here.

Pants, Pants, and More Pants

Last weekend I sold this set of dishes. The e check finally cleared today. (I hate e checks! I want my money now, not in 4 days.) Packing these up was not worth the $9.99 they sold for. The buyer paid for shipping. My hubby bought 3 sets of these dishes for $3 and this is the second set I have sold. We are keeping the last set.

and what did I buy with the $9.99? Why these pants of course and a skirt. The title would not have made sense if I had bought something else, right? I got these at the consignment store for $1 each. I am keeping 4 jeans and selling the rest.

This Tommy Hilfiger skirt fits me and if it doesn't sell I will most likely keep it.

Skirts, Skirts and More Skirts

I sold this

and this to my sister for $10

and got all these skirts at the consignment shop for $9.50.

About every two months or so, they have a certain colored tag for clearance. Any clothing with this tag, is a buck. I figured if I could sell one skirt for $9.99, I will make back my money. They are really cute but none of them are my size. To view my auctions, click here.
